KJHK’s award-winning sports staff offers Sports Talk five days a week. A different group of staff members hosts each show, each bringing diverse and unique perspectives. All Jazzed Up (Saturday 10am to Noon)
American youth are misguided and lacking a certain level of sophistication. Join the ranks of the bourgeois and culture yourself with this nation's finest artistic heritage--jazz music. Get hip to the American experience each week with a lesson on the many sub-genres and the hepcats who got things swingin'. Impress your date! Win friends! Influence others! Alternative Flashback (Sunday 4pm to 6pm)
Tired of today's typical rock fare? Do you wish your favorite bands still looked like graduate students or your older brother's stoner high school friends? Take a trip back with host Gabe Holcombe to a better era with KJHK's Alternative Flashback. We'll delve into the stacks in search of 80's alternative classics and obscure new wave fare, all the way up to early 90's noisepop, shoegaze and essential indie rock favorites. Your only place for two hours of “college rock” on today's college radio.
Bluesology (Saturday 6pm to 8pm)
Bluesology is about real blues; Chicago blues, country blues, jump blues and early soul. Every Saturday night we do it right. Bluesology's baby just left for good and it's been dealing with the Devil.
Breakiotomy (Saturday 8pm to 10pm)
Everybody on the dancefloor! Breakiotomy drops the needles on another semester of live beatmixing, impromptu mashups and general block rocking. Hear the sounds of beat-oriented music old and new, especially electronic music, hip hop, funk, world music as well as miscellany from all other eras and genres. The Buss Stop (Sunday 6pm to 9pm)
Encompassing an array of genres, this show's central theme is improvisatory musicianship, or "jamming" in the parlance of the scene. Passionate improvisers and barn-burning live performances will be highlighted across the fields of rock, bluegrass, blues, jazz, funk and even hip-hop music in the genre-blender of a show. Join Steve Buss for a celebration of the melting pot of creative energy contained within the fabric of improvisation.
Cocktails at Seven (Friday 7pm to 9pm)
Put your feet up, fill your ice trays, relax: it’s Friday and you’re invited to Cocktails at 7. Allow host Lauren Kirby to usher you into your weekend with style, winding things down to ease your nerves and then picking it up as you head out the door. Inspired by the iconic soiree of the 1950’s urban sophisticate or the 1960’s bachelor hipster, Cocktails at 7 will soothe and amuseexploring the various styles of lounge. Cheers.
*Cutout* (Friday 9pm to 10pm)
This program is about showcasing the art of audio sampling and works of audio collage. *Cutout* will try to examine the roots of sampling, and play with the definition of music and sound in general from razor-tapes to acapellas as well as cut-ups, plunderphonics, mash-ups and jamming. *Cutout* is an hour of broken time and rearranging.
The Dinner Party (Sunday Noon to 2pm)
Much of women's history is ultimately unknown and not taught, especially their musical heritage. Join Mary and Tricia for The Dinner Party, a diverse show focusing on women's contributions to music. Learn more about women's participation in song by listening to a mix of female artists.
Foreign Exchange (Saturday Noon to 2pm)
Tune in every week as KJHK takes you around the world and introduces you to international music legends and trends of the moment. With guests ranging from foreign exchange students to professors to local musicians, and focus on a different country every week, you don't have to leave the wheat fields of Kansas to get a first-class world music education. Grey Radio (Saturday Midnight to 2am)
Forget VH1’s nostalgia shows or the Top 40 stations’ retro flashback hour—and tune into Grey Radio. Delve into the rare bsides and danceable live recordings of the darkest Post-Punk and New Wave innovators of the 70’s and 80’s. Also discover the new artists of today who have followed the black eyeliner-stained trail of yesteryear.

Pipe Dreams is an exploration of modern and classic electronic music with an ear for the influences that make our favorite artists tick. Navel-gazing never sounded so good! Celebrate the area’s fertile musical heritage with Caterina as she harvests indigenous harmonies from all genres. Local music submissions always accepted and appreciated as well.

State Of The Arts (Wednesday 7pm to 8pm)
Can't get enough art? Join us on State of the Arts for a weekly exploration of the arts in and around Lawrence, Kansas City, the nation and the world--focusing on how the ideas behind and atop the current arts scene affect us here at the University of Kansas. Including artist interviews, focus on local art events and a little dose of history, State of the Arts will inform as well as allow dialogue between artists and students.
Swingin' on the Strings (Saturday 4pm to 6pm)
Swingin' On The Strings is a radio spot that includes western swing, country, jazz, and Sun Record recordings from the 1930's to late 1960's.
