Bjork and the Dirty Projectors: “Mount Wittenberg Orca EP”

Just as weird as you probably thought…but in a good way!

Although having been previously released in 2010, Mount Wittenberg Orca by Bjork and the Dirty Projectors has only now been released as a tangible CD. Although a split effort between two distinct groups, Bjork’s eccentrics bleed through heavily throughout the EP, not that this is a bad thing. On “On and Ever Onward,” a chorus of “ehhs” backs the main vocal line and “Sharing Orb” starts off without a slightly out-of-key humming choir. And although, the musical stylings of the EP are a bit mellower than the Dirty Projectors last great work, Bitte Orca, the release fits nicely within their canon. Although a bit detached from current trends, the music on Mount Wittenberg Orca will appeal to Bjork and Dirty Projector fans regardless.
