Soul Fire Revue

Soul Fire Revue is a new special program on kjhk, Saturday nights from 8-10 pm (Kansas time)….

High, up and down in tempo, The show will be anchored in american soul and funk from the mid-sixties on, but will flow free and funky in and out of many genres including Roots reggae, soul jazz, nuyorican salsa, rock music and beyond…even the occasional hippie soul- diva. We’ll have a good time stretchin’ out as far and wide as we can while still keepin’ the groove.
The overarching goal of the show will be to deliver non-stop rampages of exceptional songs that pack a soulful punch rite in yo funky buttons!!

Tune in and find out. Jump, start and flow.  First show Sat., Jan. 21st will include music from bill withers, sly stone, d’angelo, bobby Womack, Melanie, the stones, funkadelic and electric saxophone slayer: Mr. eddie harris.  ….probably seasoned with liberal doses of New Orleans style, like the funky meters, and some left-field surprises… tune in and find out.  Find the heads-up for future shows every week rite here.  Artists in the arsenal include lee scratch perry and black ark studios, latin titans willie colon and hector lavoe, nina simone , crescent city keyboard monster james booker and many others….
