David Byrne & St. Vincent: Love This Giant

The collaboration of the year is here!

One of the most unexpected collaborations but yet at the same time one of the most welcome. David Byrne and Annie Clarke (otherwise known as St. Vincent) are pretty much indie royalty at this point so it only seems fitting that they would team up for an album. Whenever someone hears about a collaboration of this magnitude, there’s always that feeling that there will be no way the album could possibly live up to the hype. However, I am glad to say that Love This Giant is as every bit as good as it’s been built up to be. Songs like the leading track “Who” are just really fun and David Byrne hasn’t sounded this good in years. Annie Clark really brought the best out in Byrne for this album. Another interesting note is the amount of brass that is used on this album. As a huge fan of horns, I welcomed this development with open arms. This album has already found a place in the top five of the year for me and I’m sure it will for most people as well.
