Girls Rock Lawrence is a new summer day camp taking place this upcoming summer in Lawrence for girls in grades 7-12, dedicated to coming together for a week and making music together. Campers will come together to form bands for the week, and will attend multiple music-making workshops each day and will also receive time to practice with their bands. Workshop topics include band promotion, feminism, self-expression and many others. I recently caught up with local musician Nate Allen and subjected him to a rigorous set of pre-screening questions in preparation for a live-in-the-studio interview.
