The second annual Big Event at KU, scheduled for Saturday, March 31, 2012, is a service project designed to bring the University of Kansas community closer to the larger community of Lawrence, Kansas. Based on a service event begun by the students of Texas A&M University, the Big Event at KU provides Lawrence community residents with a helping hand on projects around their neighborhoods.
Community residents may request service for jobs including painting, window washing and leaf raking at their homes or community organizations. Submit job requests online at thebigeventku.com; job site registration closes Friday, Feb. 24, 2012.
KU students, faculty and staff may register to complete service projects with The Big Event at KU online at thebigeventku.com. Volunteer registration closes Friday, March 2, 2012.
The Big Event is presented by the following KU student organizations: Student Senate, the Center for Community Outreach and Student Union Activities.
