The exhibition “Richard Learoyd: In the Studio,” organized by the J. Paul Getty Museum in Los Angeles and curated by Arpad Kovacs, Assistant Curator in the Department of Photographs at the Getty, opens at the Nelson-Atkins February 10. Using his custom-made large camera obscura in his East London studio, Learoyd creates figure studies, portraits and still lifes that exude serene power along with mesmerizing detail. The exhibition is free and will be on view through June 11.
