Power of Each One

Start: November 4, 2011 6:00 pm
Cost: $100

A 40th anniversary commemoration of community success will include recognition of the increasingly dire straits faced by the area’s needy.

Metro Lutheran Ministry will hold its annual Power of Each One event Nov. 5 with a mix of joy and solemnity. The evening will feature entertainment by River Ministries and recognize MLM volunteers, supporters and success stories. It will also include acknowledgment of the growing ranks of area needy.

“The need is very real,” noted MLM President Scott Strohm, a Shawnee resident and attorney with Shook, Hardy and Bacon. “The need is not theory. It’s right there.”

MLM’s biggest fundraiser of the year, Power of Each One will be held on the spacious, climate-controlled main stage of the Kansas City Starlight Theatre, 4600 Starlight Road. The 6:00 p.m. reception will be followed by a 6:30 p.m. buffet dinner, comments from MLM volunteers and clients.

River Ministries has performed nationally at concerts, workshops and conferences for 21 years. In addition to their musical talent, they share their own personal stories, ignite ‘shared experiences’ that resonate with all people, offer heartfelt worship and present a passionate gospel message.

Tickets are $100 per person ($60 of which is tax deductible). Group and table sponsorships are also available. For more information, call (816) 931-0027 or visit www.mlmkc.org on the Internet.
