Most famous (or infamous) for the bawdy, satirical comedy/variety romp the Victor Continental Show, this February serves as the launching point for Card Table’s biggest and boldest season in years! Presented by Lawrence Arts Center at 8:00 p.m.
In the ten years since its premiere in Lawrence, Literary Canon Fodder has been performed at the Edinburgh (Scotland) Fringe Festival, and after its publication in 2004, at Universities, Colleges, and High Schools throughout the United States. This “Revival” features long time Lawrence actors Kari Jackson and Jerry Mitchell (Mitchell revisiting the role he created.) The rapid fire delivery in addition to the multiple characters demanded by the script, serve as a “tour de force” for comics with the talents of Mitchell and Jackson. Literary Canon Fodder is directed by Jeremy Auman with assistance by Jacqueline Grunau (also reprising their original roles) The Script by Will Averill incorporates all manner of comic devices from a hip-hop retelling of Homer, to a live action anime version of Hemingway.

The nationally broadcast comedy show Right Between the Ears presents its first live show of 2012 at Liberty Hall. Topical take-offs and satirical spoofs, spiced with bizarre sound effects. Right Between the Ears airs every week on Laugh USA, Sirius-XM 96 and on the stations of Kansas Public Radio.
Live at Duffy’s Bar and Lounge on December 10th at 10p.m. Showcasing some of Kansas City’s best up and coming comics including Zach Smith, Wes Van Horn, Jake Goodwin, and Denver Little.
