Peter Sagal, playwright/screenwriter/actor and the host of NPR’s “Wait Wait…Don’t Tell Me!” will be giving a speech titled “Current Events: Why Satire is the Only Reasonable Response to the Times We Live In” on level 5 of the Kansas Union in the Ballroom. KJHK will be moderating the event.

KJHK will end 2012 with a bang, hosting Kansas City based band Hearts of Darkness on Dec. 7. Hearts of Darkness is a big band/funk/soul/hip hop group with 15+ members who will keep you dancing all night. Join KJHK in welcoming this high-energy band to Lawrence. Kim Barely Legal and Dean Monkey will also perform.

KJHK is proud to present an eclectic lineup of local music at the Jackpot Music Hall! The Mouthbreathers will be bringing their dirty garage rock to the Jackpot stage. They will be supported by the awesome experimental, danceable Cloud Dog and one of the best emcees in the Middle of the Map, Stik Figa. Holding down the ones and twos will be KJHK’s own DJ Modrey Hepburn of Vintage Vinyl (which airs Wednesday 10-Midnight).
This show is going to be majestic and one gem of a show!
