KU Dance Marathon

“We stand for those who can’t” For 12 hours on October 25th from 10a-10p KUDM will stand, dance and laugh for the kids who cannot do so.  All KU Students to attend and be a part of this life-changing event. Registration is found on kudm.org and is $25. That amount provides a dancer t-shirt and three meals throughout the day. Each dancer who registers is encouraged to set a personal fundraising goal through their donor drive (this is setup when registration is completed). KUDM raises money for our local Children’s Miracle Network Hospital, KU Pediatrics. Which means our donations stay within the KU family. Following in the tradition of the Quebec Circus, Jean Saucier,  equilibrist/juggler/trick cyclist/acrobat/magician, performs while Patrick Côté,  clown/ roller skater/ drummer, innocently tries his best to be the (imperfect) assistant.

Lawrence Meals on Wheels is hosting their annual “Signature Settings” Charity Auction on October 17th, 6-9pm, at Maceli’s.

 

Tickets are $50 and include an appetizer buffet, wine & beer, silent and live auctions. We have something for everyone including gift baskets, gift certificates, purses, jewelry an outdoor playhouse and Kansas City and Vegas getaways. All proceeds raised will help feed our Lawrence neighbors in need.

Basetrack draws soldiers’ stories to examine the experience of those who served in Afghanistan during America’s longest war. This multimedia theatrical production uses live music, journalism and technology to spark a conversation about the legacy of war. It is adapted from the popular Facebook page and website of photographs and videos taken by journalist Teru Kuwayama.

The University of Kansas Jazz Ensemble I and the University of Missouri Concert Jazz Band will meet for two shows on Saturday, Dec. 13, 2014 at The Blue Room in the American Jazz Museum in Kansas City, MO.

The first show will start at 8:00 p.m. and the second at 9:30 p.m. The program content will be different for each performance.
