KU Student Groups – Get Free Spots!

Thanks to the generous support of KU Student Senate, KJHK can now offer registered KU student groups the opportunity to get FREE spots promoting their next event, benefit, or fundraiser!  This online request form can get you started.

KJHK allocates a minimum 80 different spots, aired 24 times each, to student groups every year.  If your group is interested in havng a spot on KJHK, please make a timely request.  KU’s Student Senate reviews all requests and approves requests based on timeliness, fairness, and your group’s status.  Please be considerate of other student groups when requesting spots; the station will not allow more than four different spot requests per group per academic year.

Please provide the information requested below and follow instructions for submission. If you are interested in helping create or record your particular announcement, please indicate that as well. Unless you are a registered KU student organization, KJHK will not promote specific events free of charge; please contact us for underwriting options if that is your goal.
  • KJHK requires a minimum of 10 days notice to produce a spot prior to airing, and the spot must run for a minimum of 6 days prior to your event. Requesting a spot with less lead time than 10 days may result in refusal of your spot request.
  • Describe the event you are wishing to promote. Include date, time, location, featured aspects of your event; as much information as you can give us to make your spot unique, informative, and make it stand out.
    We cannot guarantee an invitation for all groups to participate in production, but we do try to invite groups as schedule permits.
    By checking the box above, you grant Student Senate and KJHK the right to determine your group's eligibility for spot production. KJHK will not accept any spot request which is placed with an intent to discriminate on the basis of race, ethnicity, gender, or sexual orientation.
