The current top 25 poll in NCAA football is drastically different from preseason. By John Griffin I’m starting to think that the preseason Top 25 is basically the equivalent of a crapshoot disguised as expertise and pseudo-analysis based on uneducated guesswork. by John Griffin Like a tidal wave of sweaty, manly, American goodness, college football season descends upon us, determined to sweep us away in a torrent of fandom, hype, and greasy stadium nachos. Before the season officially kicks off this Thursday , here are a few things to expect this year: 1. The Jayhawks will be improved.  Don’t expect any miraculous turnarounds, but Charlie Weis should be a great hire for KU. The talent and knowledge of the system will take time to solidify, but the Jayhawks’ scoring attack should be reinvigorated under Weis, who has a track record of success with almost every offense he’s run. 2.
