Like a jazzy Rage Against the Machine, Junkyard Empire puts hyper-politicized lyrics over fuzzy organic beats. I really tried not to like it but was unsuccessful. Although super specific about historical people and places (kinda reads like a term paper), the flow is dope. Really. And it goes smooth between the frameworks of sound. It’s an enjoyable listen and a guarantee-able dig for morning and lazy afternoon sets.
