Tune in for a preview of bands coming through LK this semester.
Plow the Fields is cheating a little bit this week. For those of you unfamiliar, PTF is a weekly local rock showcase. But, this week I’m mixing it up..because I can. Instead of playing you local tracks this week, I’m playing all national acts that will be touring through Lawrence this semester. Yes, I love local music BUT I love being able to see national acts that we’ve had in rotation here at KJHK just as much.
One of the best parts about living in this great little town is the amount of touring bands that come through on a weekly basis; it’s something that I regret not taking advantage of earlier in my college career. For example, Zola Jesus, M83, Blind Pilot, Cults, AND Youth Lagoon are all rolling through Lawrence this semester. That’s insane, people! What’s even better is that’s not even half of the national acts that are touring through here within the next 5 months. And, there are even more coming to Kansas City (including Radiohead!!!!!)
If you’re not down with this week’s theme, join me next week as I premiere new music from the indie rock hub that is Wichita, Kansas (no, that’s not sarcasm).
