Dent May – Warm Blanket

Check out this indie throwback to the 70s Motown sound

Dent May – Warm Blanket

The first thing I read when I came across this album is “Recorded alone in a haunted Victorian mansion…” So I was obviously sold on this dude from the get go. But don’t let that fool you. This album is very indie-pop. I feel like I should be riding an extravagant unicorn-carousel while listening to this. What’s interesting is that while it has a very upbeat and poppy sound, Dent May has the voice of a 1970’s Motown artist. It creates for a nice mixture. This is May’s third album and you can definitely see the progression from his first full-length to now. If you want to throw something upbeat on air this is the album. Watch out for tracks #1 and #2. #1 is just the intro and #2 drops the F-bomb.

Rec: 3, 5, 6, 9, 10. Though they are all good, just don’t play 2.
