Ethan Graham: So as always, what is your favorite color and why?
Andy Fiala: I’m going to go with green because it’s a pretty vibrant color and you don’t see it that often.
EG: You don’t. Okay, so the follow up question is, what is your quest?
AF: I kind of want to become a doctor, so I’d call that a quest. But there are a lot of things I wouldn’t mind doing.
EG: Good, good…if you want to expand on that go ahead.
AF: I want to move to New York, I don’t really care what job I have, but I think medicine is cool.
EG: All right, so when did you first figure out you liked music or start trying to find what you liked in music?
AF: My senior year in high school I bought a Smiths’ album on a whim, and then from there I just started picking other obscure and critically acclaimed stuff and started my path to music elitism.
EG: That’s always a good thing. Was that the first album you bought with your own money?
AF: Yes, that was the first album that I bought with my own money.
EG: How about the first album your parents bought you?
AF: First album my parents bought me? That would probably be the Black Eyed Peas, which unfortunately I haven’t destroyed yet. For the good of mankind.
EG: All right, how about an album that has some emotional connection to you or a memory?
AF: Hmm…probably “The Queen is Dead.” I bought that my Freshman year in the dorms, and I hated my roommate and didn’t have a whole lot to do. So I’d listen to it over and over so it has an emotional connection to me.
EG: A lot of anger, a lot of hate for this person?
AF: A lot of angst.
EG: What has been one of the best shows you’ve been to recently?
AF: I actually haven’t been to a lot of shows recently, however last year I did go to the Love Garden for a show.
EG: Do you remember who was playing?
AF: I don’t know what his name was, but he does like guitar feedback. Really long and experimental. I can’t remember who it was though.
EG: This seems to be one of the quickest interviews I’ve done so what is your favorite childhood cartoon?
AF: My favorite childhood cartoon would probably be “Dexter’s Laboratory.”
EG: That’s a good one.
AF: That was probably one of my favorite things in my entire life.
EG: That’s a good show, I love that show. I even got my little sister into watching it. Last question, what is your favorite superhero and why?
AF: I’d have to go with Green Lantern, because he doesn’t really have powers. I think I don’t really know much but I sort of identify with him.
EG: I mean he has powers, in the fact that he has a ring that can form constructs using his will power.
AF: Yeah…he’s got the ring.
