Erroll Garner: Ready Take One

errol-garner-ready-take-oneErroll Garner was an African-American jazz pianist from Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. His music touched many souls from the past to the present. What makes Ready Take One so much more special than his other albums is the fact that it contains tracks that were never heard by the public until now. The album is most definitely an auditory delight that is perfect for all ages. The pieces that really shined in my opinion were: “Chase Me”, “Satin Doll, “I’m Confessin’ (That I Love You)”, and “Night and Day.” All of the pieces on this album were extremely relaxing and enjoyable to listen to. Ready Take One could be played while doing homework, to relax after a long day or in the background while reading a novel while it rains outside. Garner proved that a piano can turn into a voice. Anyone can play some musical notes; but not everyone can make them sing. Erroll Garner truly was a talented and gifted man; may he rest in peace.
