Singer and songwriter Melody Federer has produced her sophomore album aptly titled When The Dogwoods Bloom. Federer sings sweet and low on the topic of past life experiences and homages to love, pure and true. The singer utilizes simple acoustic accompaniment and at times even some electronic undertones to accentuate her voice. Tracks like “This is What it Feels Like” and “Standing” promote love in tough circumstances and coming together to make it work.
If I were to compare this track listing to a personal experience, I’d say Federer’s album wraps up the listener in a snug blanket and sits them by a warm campfire. It’s simple, yet filled with a fire of hope and happiness that grows more evident and infectious with each song that passes.
