In this episode of the podcast, I tell the story of Leonardo Notarbartolo and the Antwerp Diamond Heist. In February of 2003, a team of five highly specialized Italian thieves, known as “La Scuola Di Torino,” or The School of Turin, stole an estimated $100 million dollars from the main vault of the Antwerp Diamond District Center. In a bizarre twist of events, a retired Belgian grocer and a half-eaten Salami sandwich led to thieves arrest. The diamonds, for the most part, were never found.
