The 9th annual Big Event at KU was anything but falsely advertised, as a sea of countless volunteers flocked to the Burge Union bright and early Saturday morning. This spectacle of kindness that even caught the attention of a man who is quickly learning what the Jayhawk spirit embodies in Les Miles, who commended the crowd for their support before sending them off to lend their helping hands all throughout Lawrence. For our very own KJHK group, those helping hands were put to work grounds-keeping for the delightful Jackie Bogner, who was kind enough to make sure our volunteers stayed hydrated and fed throughout their afternoon of diligent work.
While the Big Event may already be in the books for 2019, we highly recommend signing up for next year’s 10th annual Big Event if you want to feel what it’s like to make a tangible difference in the lives of some of the friendly faces who make up Lawrence!
