A new host brings back the female voices in the up and coming music scene
Hello new friends! I ‘d like to take this time to officially introduce myself as the new host for Femme FM for the Spring 2013 semester. My name is Steph Castor, and I am a senior in the Creative Writing program here at KU. Though my involvement in music has varied over the past twelve years, I’d like to invite you all to join me in sharing and listening to up-and-coming artists (both widely known and local) who are on the brink of the current music scene. My experience ranges from live performance to freelance music journalism, booking, publicity and management– never failing to hone my interests in the success and vastly underestimating talents of women in the business.
With that said, you can expect to hear new music as well as features from some very special in-studio guests from the alternative rock and indie realm with a sprinkle of pop, electronic, and maybe even some hip hop here and there. Basically, I have no limits, but I do have taste. And as always, don’t hesitate to submit a request online or call in if there is anything you’d like to hear. Cheers to an exciting estrogen-packed semester!
