Psychedelic Rock is back
Night Beats Night Beats Night Beats! This album is so boss. Night Beats is a shining example of psychedelic rock. With the iconic bass chugging along, a heady guitar floats above with heavy reverb. The fuzzy vocals are delightfully barely recognizable. There is a difference between 60s psychedelic rock and 60s surf rock. AND THIS RECORD PROVES IT. Track 4 (“Outta Mind”) is perfect for getting your dance on and one of my favorite on this album. Night Beats has perfectly captured that hazy drugged out spirit of psychedelic rock to produce Sonic Bloom. Even if you don’t fangirl over it like I (clearly) am, it’s worth a spin. Reverb forever.
