On the band’s newest album, Anarchy, My Dear, however, the guitars have been turned down in favor of more reverb-heavy acoustic numbers. That isn’t to say that the rock is gone, but it has notably been knocked down a notch. The songs are quite good, but aren’t nearly as catchy as “Alive With the Glory of Love” or “Wow, I Can Get Sexual Too” which made them emo’s little darling band almost 10 years ago. Some songs reach into the past and don’t succeed: “Admit It Again” is basically a rehashing of “Admit It” from their album Say Anything with artsier lyrics. With that being said, the album isn’t bad, and you can feel the band taking a new direction. Pretty refreshing.

Reviewed by: Paul Thomas on March 11th, 2012

RIYL: Jimmy Eat World, Motion City Soundtrack, Saves the Day

Recommended Tracks: 1, 8 and 9

FCC Warning: None

Label: Equal Visions

Release Date: March 13th, 2012

[3230,181
397,738
post-11463","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-new-music-rotation","category-rock-rotation","tag-paul-thomas","tag-say-anything
["GET
