One gets the feeling of being propelled by unstoppable beats through dramatic landscapes of melodies and distortion. Tracks like Lots and True Thrush contain the frenetic beats and whirring distortion often found in Deacon’s earlier works, while USA I: Is A Monster and USA III: Rail allude to his recent forays into orchestration. The four USA tracks contain more subtleties and space than the preceding tracks and, like the country the album takes it’s name from, are full of complexities and diversity. Deacon’s idea to name his latest album after something as vast and intricate as America may seem overly ambitious, but he pulls it off masterfully.

Label: Domino
Similar Artists: Animal Collective, Black Moth Super Rainbow
Recommended Tracks: 2, 3, 4
FCC: Clean
Reviewed by Ben Hitz

[3230
985,981,984,986
post-15909","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-new-music-rotation","tag-america","tag-ben-hitz","tag-dan-deacon","tag-rotation
["GET
