The Ed Sullivan Show enjoyed a 23 year run and served as a launching pad for many artists including Elvis Presley and The Beatles.<\/p>\n<p><strong>1968<\/strong>, The Beatles\u2019 \u201cHey Jude\u201d reached No. 1 on the U.S. singles chart and would stay there for nine weeks.\u00a0The Beatles perform \u201cHey Jude\u201d on the David Frost show in 1968. Paul McCartney wrote the song for John Lennon\u2019s son, Julian:<iframe src=\"http:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/wM0IDLAntVM?rel=0\" width=\"480\" height=\"360\" frameborder=\"0\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p><strong>1991<\/strong>, Miles Davis died of a stroke and pneumonia. Davis was a widely influential jazz trumpeter, bandleader, and composer. He was 65 years old.<\/p>\n<p><strong>1991<\/strong>, The song \u201cGood Vibrations\u201d by Marky Mark &amp; the Funky Bunch climbed to No. 1 on the charts and stayed there for two weeks.\u00a0Before becoming a movie star, Mark Wahlberg and his Funky Bunch achieved platinum status for their album <em>Music for the People. <\/em>The album\u2019s success was largely fueled by the single \u201cGood Vibrations.&#8221; <iframe src=\"http:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/RthObLzZsSc?rel=0\" width=\"640\" height=\"360\" frameborder=\"0\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p><strong>2003<\/strong>, John Mayer\u2019s <em>Heavier Things<\/em> was at No. 1 on the U.S. album chart. The album included the songs \u201cBigger Than My Body\u201d, \u201cClarity,\u201d and \u201cDaughters.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p><strong>2009<\/strong>, Adam Goldstein (DJ AM) died of an accidental drug overdose at the age of 36.
