It continues a theme of mixing contemporary jazz with a sort-of “French-y” feel to it. With the addition of vocalist Cyrille Aimee to tracks 3,7, and 10, this trend is continued. The album consists of guitarists Evan Perri and Paul Brady, accordionist Julien Labro, saxophonists Jon Irabagon and Andrew Bishop, bassist Shawn Conley, and Cyrille Aimee on vocals. A few tracks, especially 5 (Chutzpah) mix creative, free jazz with harmonious swing. Aimee is French-born and took place in the 2010 Thelonious Monk International Jazz Vocals Competition, and adds a lot to this album. The entire album is full of a lot of texture, but harmony. I enjoyed listening to it.

[4
1217,9,1218,1219
post-17329","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-music","tag-hot-club-of-detroit","tag-jazz-in-the-morning","tag-junction","tag-kimberlee-hinkle
["GET
