His latest album, <em>Shut Down the Streets<\/em>, continues Newman\u2019s rich traditions of mixing Beatlesque melodies with a modern indie sensibility. Tracks like \u201cThere\u2019s Money in New Wave\u201d and \u201cStrings\u201d showcase Newman\u2019s knack for harmony, as well as his sharp wit when it comes to songwriting.
