An Exclusively Vinyl Program Returns to KJHK<\/p>\n
Hello everyone, my name is Kyle Stringer, and I am the host of the new special program called \u201cFor the Record,\u201d which airs Fridays from 8:00 \u2013 10:00 p.m.\u00a0 The show focuses on the use of vinyl and its benefits, such as: superior sound quality, exclusive music, larger artwork, and having something to show for the money spent on the music.\u00a0 I personally believe that having music that you love on vinyl is superior to any other format.\u00a0 YouTube, pirated mp3s, and Pandora don\u2019t quite cut it\u2026\u00a0 The feeling of putting the needle on the record and hearing the warm and deep sound it provides is like none other, and extremely far from the feeling you get from iTunes and cd\u2019s (cold).\u00a0 Finding a song on an LP generally takes a little work, and makes the listening experience even more satisfying and special.<\/p>\n
On \u201cFor the Record,\u201d you can expect to hear just about anything.\u00a0 I am using my personal vinyl collection, and in the process of becoming familiar with KJHK\u2019s.\u00a0 Groups\/Artists generally heard are: Neon Indian, Queen, The Flaming Lips, Animal Collective, of Montreal, Sufjan Stevens, Pink Floyd, Rush, Deerhoof, The Mars Volta, and more.\u00a0 I try to make sure I play some special tunes every Friday that only people who have the vinyl will have, so others get a chance to listen too.<\/p>\n
I\u2019m looking forward to sharing music with you all, and hope that you will let me know what you\u2019d like to hear as well.<\/p>\n
