We also put out a call for suggestions for a new name (current ideas: Sunflower Reading Series, Lawrence Literary, Read Staters). Each guest has a reading in Lawrence coming up, if you like what you hear!<\/p>\n<p><strong><\/strong><strong>Kate Russell<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Sara Leavens spoke with fiction writer Kate Russell, a new arrival at KU who is pursuing a PhD in creative writing. This Thursday, September 5, Ben will be reading from his work &#8220;Tea &amp; Gin&#8221; &#8211; dealing with the foreign concessions era in Tienjin, China &#8211; alongside visiting writer Jonathan Stalling. She will be visiting KU as part of a tour for her newest book,\u00a0<em>Young Tambling<\/em>, described by\u00a0<em>Kenyon Review<\/em> as &#8220;a profoundly affecting assemblage of poetry, prose, and visual art&#8221;.
