The group has all but given up on its signature folk-pop sound and lighthearted lyrics and in a somewhat sullen turn of events, Fink and the rest of the crew have created a surprisingly deep coming-of-age album in which many of the ten tracks sound eerily and somewhat annoyingly similar. Though by track five, (Silver and Gold) the record does begin to pick up, after revisiting older \u2018Noah\u2019 songs like 5 Years Time and L.I.F.E.G.O.E.S.O.N it\u2019s safe to say Noah and the Whale is a band whose musical stylings are better suited to the quirky light pop tunes the group was known to crank out a few years back.
