The band can make a hit single, but not a full album. Now that I’ve been through the whole album a few things I’ve realized that Tennis really brought their A game with this one. Ritual in Repeat has a nice, updated, retro feeling to it. With the help of dreamy chords, a variety of instruments, beats, and tempos, I am sold. This may be one of my favorite albums of the year.

One can not go wrong either by listening to the album in its entirety or just picking and choosing tracks to jam out to. “I’m Callin” (#4) is the most recommend song by the label and I couldn’t agree more. It has a nice 1980’s funky vibe that makes you want to bust out your old sneaks and sweat a little on the dance floor. A nice variation from this track would be “This Isn’t My Song” (#9). I want to put on the biggest skirt full of tulle and find a cute d8 on Tinder to take to a dance with me so that he can hold me close and dance slowly. I would classify this album as upbeat dream pop. Very fun, very relaxing, very Tennis.

Recommended if you like: Seapony, La Sera, Camera Obscura, Hospitality

Recommeded Tracks: “I’m Callin’,” “Night Vision,” “Needle and a Knife,” and “Wounded Heart”

Reviewed by Haven Harbert on September 2, 2014

One can not go wrong either by listening to the album in its entirety or just picking and choosing tracks to jam out to.

[3230,181

post-31672","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-new-music-rotation","category-rock-rotation
["GET
