Since beginning my personal stack in 2011, I thought it was terribly important to protect every record I ever bought with a plastic shield, but I\u2019ve changed my mind, and I\u2019ll tell you why.<\/p>\n<p>1) The artwork looks better without a raincoat.<\/p>\n<p>2) Your records from fifty years ago still look fine, and who knows the last time they wore protection?<\/p>\n<p>3) Try selecting and replacing records stored in a row on a shelf, where all you can see are the spines. It\u2019s terrible, and it\u2019s all because of the cover slips.<\/p>\n<p>4) It\u2019s plastic.<\/p>\n<p>5) The feel of a cover matters. Some feel so good you want to touch your face with them.<\/p>\n<p>Give her a try. Let your records breathe.
