\"Edge-Of-The-Sun-by-Calexico\"Calexico is a staple in the indie-rock community. Going on nearly 20 years in the music business, this Tex-Mex band has a great sound of indie rock paired with a latin flavor of mariachi. \u201cEdge Of The Sun\u201d is the 9th studio album in their impressive catalog.<\/p>\n

If you\u2019ve been a fan of Calexico for a while or just a short amount of time, you\u2019ll enjoy this album. They don\u2019t venture too far off the path they\u2019ve been on for a while and have created an enjoyable album that is easy to listen to even if it doesn\u2019t blow your mind or anything.<\/p>\n

Most songs on this album are a bit on the slow side and are pretty peaceful. \u201cWhen The Angels Played\u201d is one I enjoyed listening to and it made me want to go out to a secluded area in the Summer and just lay in the grass and relax.<\/p>\n

If you\u2019re looking for a song with the most Latin flavor (a little bit faster of a pace), check out \u201cCumbia De Donde\u201d. A good portion of lyrics are in Spanish but the song is essentially a tale of meeting various travels and asking \u201cDe donde Eres? A donde vas?\u201d (Where are you from? Where are you going?).<\/p>\n

Another one that fits this bill, though is purely instrumental, is \u201cCoyoacan\u201d, which refers to one of the 16 boroughs of Mexico City. (Yeah, didn\u2019t think I\u2019d be dropping all this knowledge on you in this review did you?).
