The combination of screeching guitar riffs drowned in feedback, driving basslines, thunderous drumming, and relentless punk vocals make for an sensory overload of a band, and this album may be them at their best so far.

Listening to the non-stop aggression of Metz II conjures up thoughts of Nirvana’s first album — pure anger evoked through ear-splitting noise that raises the blood pressure like no other force can.

Metz may not be Nirvana, but damn if they don’t have the same spirit. The album flies by rather quickly as the songs all lie under the 5 minute mark, but the momentum never skips a beat as each song thrashes by, leaving the listener in a dizzying haze. Metz is one of the loudest (see: best) post-punk noise-rock bands around today, and after hearing this album, it looks like they’re only getting louder.

Recommended If You Like: Nirvana, The Jesus Lizard, Fugazi,
Recommended Tracks: 3, 10, 1, 7, ALL OF THEM (except 6)
Do Not Play: 6
Written by Mason Wheatley on 04/24/2015

[181
1676,3034
post-33998","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-rock-rotation","tag-ii","tag-metz
["GET
