For any fan of Star Wars, the album is worth one listen for the novelty of hearing “help me Obi-Wan!” blaring out in the middle of a professionally created song. After that, though, certain songs deserved to be isolated and others ignored. Though the theme of the album is Star Wars, none of the songs entirely encapsulated the emotions felt when watching the movies.

The album is more so a bunch of electronic songs that coincidentally had Darth Vader breathing all over them instead of a trip to the trenches of Hoth.

Regardless of any criticisms, all should feel grateful for being exposed to this album. Quite a few artists on this release provide interesting glimpses into the future. The advice here is to go into this album with the pure intent of trying to recognize some of the more obscure samples used. The shelf-life of Star Wars: Headspace is limited past that.

Recommended If You Like: Star Wars, Flying Lotus, Bonobo, Shlohmo, Rustie

Recommended Tracks: 8 (Ghomrassen), 11 (R2 Where R U?), 15 (Star Tripper), 13 (Ewok Pumpp), 12 (Druid Caravan of Smoke), 9 (Bounty Hunters)

Do Not Play: None

Written by Shane Blair on 04/04/16

A fun album on which a host of notable electronic artists incorporate sound samples from Star Wars films.

[182,4,3235,3230
4784,2368,4783,4785,2934,3337,4772
post-44121","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-hip-hopelectronic-rotation","category-music","category-music-reviews","category-new-music-rotation","tag-baauer","tag-flying-lotus","tag-rick-rubin","tag-royksopp","tag-shane-blair","tag-star-wars","tag-star-wars-headspace
["GET
