{"id":45341,"date":"2016-05-20T13:00:15","date_gmt":"2016-05-20T18:00:15","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/kjhk.org\/web\/?p=45341"},"modified":"2016-05-18T15:03:27","modified_gmt":"2016-05-18T20:03:27","slug":"overlooked-arboretum-right-around-the-corner","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/kjhk.org\/web\/2016\/05\/20\/overlooked-arboretum-right-around-the-corner\/","title":{"rendered":"Overlooked Arboretum Right Around The Corner"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Just recently,\u00a0I stumbled upon the Lawrence Rotary Arboretum, a man made site full of walking paths to get some exercise, a pergola, a few gazebo&#8217;s, and a what is called a Xeriscape <img decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-45342 alignleft\" src=\"http:\/\/kjhk.org\/web\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/05\/0.jpg\" alt=\"0\" width=\"221\" height=\"166\" \/>garden. These kinds of gardens reduce the need for supplemental irrigation for their plants.\u00a0There are also all new trees planted in honor of the Rotary club lining the paths.<\/p>\n<p>The site itself is another beautiful addition to the community of Lawrence but often overlooked as a place to visit when competing with Clinton Lake. The man made water sources use a system of pumps to begin\u00a0moving water to and fro and are honestly beautiful.
