The album The Redhead’s Allegations is the New York-based band’s first album, and it’s a pleasant release. Though his Phil Collins-esque vocals and classic rock backing may seem anachronistic, he hits his stride by the fourth track (and my personal favorite) “Seventeen.” Its a warm, retrospective rock song in which Chapell fondly remembers a summer fling. His sunny vocals are infectious, and the rest of the album seems like a fond trip through your parents’ CD collection- its a feeling that made me smile through the remaining seven tracks. Standout songs include “California” and “Iggy.” Overall, the album is agreeable, bubbly, and innocent. There may not be any large cerebral endeavors on the release, but Chapell has succeeded in giving us a nice collection of breezy, sweet anthems.

Recommended If You Like: Phil Collins, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Byan Ferry
Recommended Tracks: 4 (Seventeen), 6 (California), 7 (Iggy)
Do Not Play: None
Written by Allie Heiner on 09/15/2016

[181
5293,5405,5406
post-49444","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-rock-rotation","tag-allie-heiner","tag-chapell","tag-the-redheads-allegation
["GET
