This Thursday on 27 October the three bands were\u00a0Hyborian, Runaway Sons, and Dead Bars.<\/p>\n<p>The night started suddenly as the sound of distortion and rapid chord strumming ripped from inside the three towering amps that stood behind the band members on stage. Hyborian, a four piece heavy metal band from Kansas City, played their instruments furiously as the decibel meter behind the sound control booth fluctuated rapidly, reaching heights of 165 decibels. Within the surging sound was deep bass<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_51909\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-51909\" style=\"width: 602px\" class=\"wp-caption alignleft\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-51909\" src=\"http:\/\/kjhk.org\/web\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/10\/IMG_4551-300x240.jpg\" alt=\"img_4551\" width=\"602\" height=\"479\" srcset=\"https:\/\/kjhk.org\/web\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/10\/IMG_4551-300x240.jpg 300w, https:\/\/kjhk.org\/web\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/10\/IMG_4551-378x300.jpg 378w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 602px) 100vw, 602px\" \/><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-51909\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Runaway Sons setting up on stage<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>accompanied by\u00a0intense cracking\u00a0snare hits and the clatter of the\u00a0semi open hi-hat. The drummer and bassist laid the\u00a0framework for the guitarist\u00a0and\u00a0singer as he\u00a0shouted\u00a0furiously through the microphone. Fans\u00a0heads bobbed up and down to the sound of\u00a0the powerful rhythm through the entire set. As Hyborian closed and began moving their instruments from the stage, the next act, Runaway Sons, began setting up theirs. The band started perfect synchronization with one another and played a set of about seven\u00a0songs. It was evident that each was heavily rehearsed. Vocalist of the band,\u00a0Jimmy Wing, added intense energy to the show as he stormed around the stage. Wing, microphone in hand, posted himself on top<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_51937\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-51937\" style=\"width: 518px\" class=\"wp-caption alignright\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-51937\" src=\"http:\/\/kjhk.org\/web\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/10\/IMG_4545-3-300x240.jpg\" width=\"518\" height=\"414\" srcset=\"https:\/\/kjhk.org\/web\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/10\/IMG_4545-3-300x240.jpg 300w, https:\/\/kjhk.org\/web\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/10\/IMG_4545-3-768x614.jpg 768w, https:\/\/kjhk.org\/web\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/10\/IMG_4545-3-1024x819.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/kjhk.org\/web\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/10\/IMG_4545-3.jpg 1400w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 518px) 100vw, 518px\" \/><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-51937\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Runaway Sons<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>of a sound\u00a0box\u00a0to the side of the stage as he led the band through the chorus of the song.\u00a0Seattle Washington based band, Dead Bars, stopped in Lawrence to close the evening out at Three Headed Thursdays\u00a0as they toured\u00a0their way down to Florida. The five person punk rock band played song after song of fast paced and energetic music. The crowd head banged along to the rhythm as they followed the lead of singer, John Maiello, who raged on stage amidst the crowd.
