If you are not familiar with Tunes at Night, here\u2019s the low down: Tunes at Night is a local concert series put on by SUA and KJHK each semester. About four to five acts from the area ranging in genre come to the Lied Center Pavilion for an hour of good music with cool people, and stellar goat cheese, free of charge! This semester\u2019s Tunes at Night lineup included Westerners,\u00a0Raymond, Ricky Roosevelt and was closed with a stellar performance from ethereal folk sweethearts, The Ovaries-eez.<\/p>\n

The Ovaries-eez is a Lawrence trio that formed almost four years ago and consists of Amber Hansen, Johni Lacore and Monica George formed almost four years ago. After recently spending some time apart due to the relocation of one of their\u00a0members, the Ovaries-eez sound proved to be untouched. From the start of the show, band members established that the event was a safe space, which was a tone\u00a0undisguised through the vulnerability and tenderness of each of their songs with subtle environmental and feminist themes.<\/p>\n

\"ovaries-eez13\"The unique and graceful sound that\u00a0each member brought to every\u00a0harmonized pitch came together to create a fluid piece. Throughout the set, a white electric guitar rotated its way to each of the members showcasing their effortless collaboration which, alongside the ambient colored lighting of the venue, contributed to the relaxed atmosphere of the event.<\/p>\n

The Ovaries-eez\u00a0were the perfect finishing touch to a great series of local music.<\/p>\n
