{"id":66239,"date":"2018-03-17T14:16:30","date_gmt":"2018-03-17T19:16:30","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/kjhk.org\/web\/?p=66239"},"modified":"2018-03-17T14:16:30","modified_gmt":"2018-03-17T19:16:30","slug":"preview-ku-faces-tall-order-in-no-8-seton-hall","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/kjhk.org\/web\/2018\/03\/17\/preview-ku-faces-tall-order-in-no-8-seton-hall\/","title":{"rendered":"PREVIEW: KU faces tall order in No. 8 Seton Hall"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Saturday marks Kansas basketball\u2019s 150<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">th<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> game in the NCAA tournament in program history, but while a No. 1 seed against a No. 8 seed might not appear daunting on paper, Bill Self and Co. might be facing the biggest matchup\u2014literally\u2014of the entire season. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The Pirates boast a lineup that not only is loaded with size, but is also deep enough to consistently provide mismatches for what is a much smaller Kansas lineup. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Among all of the players to be focused on for Saturday night\u2019s matchup, senior Angel Delgado, a 6-10 post machine, poses as the biggest problem-causer for the Jayhawks. Delgado, who is averaging a healthy double-double this season, has crushed multiple BIG EAST and NCAA records in his four years as a Pirate.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u201cHe\u2019s a work horse,\u201d Kansas head coach Bill Self said in a press conference on Friday afternoon. \u201cHe never quits trying to wedge or get position for rebounds\u2026he\u2019s a professional rebounder.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Delgado, who is three months older than KU\u2019s Devonte\u2019 Graham, might not normally be as much of an issue for the Jayhawks with a fully healthy lineup, but Kansas enters Saturday with a banged up Udoka Azubuike, still ailing from a Grade 1 MCL sprain he suffered 10 days ago.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Azubuike was available for KU\u2019s first round matchup and was used sparingly for three minutes in relief of a struggling Mitch Lightfoot and Silvio De Sousa and seemed to be the spark plug that ignited both other forwards to step up their play. However, the Nigerian product will have to maneuver through his ailments to slow down one of the best big men the Jayhawks have seen all season. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">With a win on Saturday night, Kansas would advance to its 31<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">st<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> Sweet 16 in program history.
