Last week’s top add is this week’s #1!\u00a0Be the Cowboy\u00a0<\/em>is Mitski’s fifth studio album, and a fantastic addition to her already impressive discography. Whether a full band is playing or it’s just Mitski and her piano, each of the fourteen tracks hits you in a way that only she can.<\/p>\n

2.) The Beths – Future Me Hates Me<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n

The Beths are an exciting four-piece band out of New Zealand.\u00a0Future Me Hates Me\u00a0<\/em>is energetic and catchy, and front woman Elizabeth Stokes’ reflective and self-critical lyrics give the band a strong emotional edge.<\/p>\n

3.) Basement Revolver –\u00a0Heavy Eyes<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n

We have another debut album at number three with Heavy Eyes<\/em> by Canadian dream pop band Basement Revolver. The album is filled with playful melodies that are contrasted with fuzzed out guitar tones and weary, heartfelt lyrics.<\/p>\n

4.) Free Cake For Every Creature –\u00a0The Bluest Star<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n

The Bluest Star<\/em> is some sweet soft pop from Philadelphia band Free Cake For Every Creature (one of our favorite band names here at KJHK). The album a bit tidier than their previous works but still keeps that DIY charm.<\/p>\n

5.) Tanukichan –\u00a0Sundays<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n

Down from number one the past two weeks is Sundays<\/em> by Tanukichan. (From last week) \u201cSundays<\/em> is a relaxing and reflective blend of shoe-gaze and dream pop that is perfect for any summer setting.\u201d<\/p>\n
