This has been a summer of excellent tunes, and this week&#8217;s albums are no exception. Check out what we&#8217;re currently spinning here at KJHK.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Top 5 Charts:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"aligncenter\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/media.pitchfork.com\/photos\/5d22a42b332ba40008a6ee0e\/1:1\/w_320\/Blood-Orange.jpg\" alt=\"Image result for blood orange angels pulse cover\"\/><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>1.)<\/strong> <strong>Blood Orange &#8211; <em>Angel&#8217;s Pulse<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Diverging in several senses from previous works, like <em>Negro Swan<\/em>, <em>Angel&#8217;s Pulse<\/em> is an eclectic &#8220;mix-tape&#8221; of sorts, featuring a plethora of collaborators. Nonetheless, the album is full of the same poignant lyricism and careful deliberation which characterizes Blood Orange&#8217;s past discography.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"aligncenter\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.simpleimageresizer.com\/_uploads\/photos\/169e32f8\/horse_jumper_of_love_320x320.jpg\" alt=\"\"\/><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>2.) Horse Jumper of Love &#8211; <\/strong><em><strong>So Divine<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>So Divine<\/em> is the Boston trio Horse Jumper of Love&#8217;s sophomore album, following their self-titled debut in 2016. Lead singer Dimitri Giannopoulos describes many of the songs on the album as sprouting from &#8220;very specific little memories that, for some reason or another, have stuck in [his] mind.&#8221; <\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"aligncenter\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/media.pitchfork.com\/photos\/5ce41272c13a4571bee8321c\/1:1\/w_320\/PurpleMountains_PurpleMountains.jpg\" alt=\"Image result for purple mountains album cover\"\/><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p> <strong>3.) Purple Mountains &#8211; <em>Purple Mountains<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>David Berman of Silver Jews returns after a lengthy hiatus during which he spent a great deal of time reading and reflecting. Written following a series of strained personal relationships and the death of his mother, <em>Purple Mountains <\/em>is a study in grief, resentment, and quiet introspection.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"aligncenter\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/media.pitchfork.com\/photos\/5d092f2117fa5ef6fce517cd\/1:1\/w_320\/patience_mannequinpussy.jpg\" alt=\"Image result for mannequin pussy cover\"\/><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>4.) Mannequin P*ssy &#8211; <em>Patience<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Achieving critical acclaim as one of the &#8220;best punk rock records of the year,&#8221;  <em>Patience<\/em> marks the longest and most exploratory record thus far released by Philadelphia-based Mannequin P*ssy.  The record explores the double-standards of womanhood, also delving into topics like abuse, self-acceptance, and heartbreak.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"aligncenter\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.simpleimageresizer.com\/_uploads\/photos\/169e32f8\/brijean_320x320.jpg\" alt=\"\"\/><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>5.) Brijean &#8211; <em>Walkie Talkie<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Brijean Murphy, a percussionist who has worked with groups such as Toro y Moi and U.S. Girls, enters the music scene on her own with <em>Walkie Talkie<\/em>.
