Nonetheless, the album is full of the same poignant lyricism and careful deliberation which characterizes Blood Orange’s past discography.<\/p>\n\n\n\n 2.) Horse Jumper of Love – <\/strong>So Divine<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n So Divine<\/em> is the Boston trio Horse Jumper of Love’s sophomore album, following their self-titled debut in 2016. Lead singer Dimitri Giannopoulos describes many of the songs on the album as sprouting from “very specific little memories that, for some reason or another, have stuck in [his] mind.” <\/p>\n\n\n\n 3.) Purple Mountains – Purple Mountains<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n David Berman of Silver Jews returns after a lengthy hiatus during which he spent a great deal of time reading and reflecting. Written following a series of strained personal relationships and the death of his mother, Purple Mountains <\/em>is a study in grief, resentment, and quiet introspection.<\/p>\n\n\n\n 4.) Mannequin P*ssy – Patience<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n Achieving critical acclaim as one of the “best punk rock records of the year,” Patience<\/em> marks the longest and most exploratory record thus far released by Philadelphia-based Mannequin P*ssy. The record explores the double-standards of womanhood, also delving into topics like abuse, self-acceptance, and heartbreak.<\/p>\n\n\n\n 5.) Brijean – Walkie Talkie<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n Brijean Murphy, a percussionist who has worked with groups such as Toro y Moi and U.S. Girls, enters the music scene on her own with Walkie Talkie<\/em>.
