Fall is here and, more importantly, spooky season is right around the corner! We’ve got plenty of great things spinning at the station, so make sure to keep reading for a recap of our latest and greatest records.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

1.) Clairo \u2013 Immunity<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Clairo holds down the number one spot for the fifth<\/em> consecutive week, although this will (unfortunately) be her last week eligible for the KJHK charts. Debut album Immunity <\/em>marks a clear maturation in this young artist\u2019s sound; she doesn\u2019t shy away from hard topics, relying more heavily on her vocals than ever before to pack the tracks with emotion. 2.) Joy Again \u2013 Piano [EP]<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Despite the band\u2019s sunny name, the tracks Joy Again puts forth on the new Piano EP <\/em>toy with topics which range from morbid to heart-breaking. The band\u2019s signature heavy implementation of distortion doesn\u2019t prevent them from toeing genre lines.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

3.) Bon Iver – i,i<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

According to Justin Vernon, each Bon Iver album thus far has been tied to a certain season. i,i<\/em>, the fourth album, rounds out the cycle with a sweeping representation of autumn. Bon Iver, as always, artfully treads the line between pre-established sound and musical innovation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

4.) Cuco \u2013 Para M\u00ed<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

After surviving a near-fatal car crash, the members of Cuco realized that they had lost most of the files containing the music which would have become their debut album. Para M\u00ed <\/em>was born as the group metaphorically rose from the ashes, a cathartic, healing project that sounds more cheerful than one might expect.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

5.) (Sandy) Alex G – House of Sugar<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Though House of Sugar<\/em> may be Alex G’s ninth album, the artist has not lost any momentum \u2014 far from it. This highly-anticipated record is perhaps his most cohesive work yet, somehow both starkly relatable and whimsically fantastic. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
