Well, folks, we have a great bundle of charts and adds alike for you this week! I must say that the new Hovvdy album is absolutely blowing me away, and I hope it has the same effect on our listeners. The music? Excellent. The album art? Uhhh… don’t know how I feel about the creepy, sentient moon, but who am I to judge? Without further ado, here’s what we’ve been spinning this week.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

1.) (Sandy) Alex G \u2013 House of Sugar<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Though House of Sugar<\/em> may be Alex G\u2019s ninth album, the artist has not lost any momentum \u2014 far from it. This highly-anticipated record is perhaps his most cohesive work yet, somehow both starkly relatable and whimsically fantastic.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

2.) BROCKHAMPTON \u2013 Ginger<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

BROCKHAMPTON\u2019s Ginger<\/em> is somehow both raw and mature, a bit more melancholy than many of their previous works. The record is vulnerable, painting a picture of many of the very real issues the band\u2019s members have personally experienced.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

3.) Frankie Cosmos \u2013 Close It Quietly<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

In the fourth Frankie Cosmos record, lead singer Greta Kline explores the joys and perils of being in one\u2019s twenties. Like many other artists who break into the music scene at a young age, the members of Frankie Cosmos have taken to music to make sense of young adulthood.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

4.) Angel Olsen \u2013 All Mirrors<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Compared to the brash, bold attitude Olsen has taken toward many of her previous albums, All Mirrors<\/em> displays a softer, more hesitant side to the artist. The record contains pieces Olsen created in isolation in Anacortes, Washington, many re-imagined with a stunning 12-piece string arrangement.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

5.) Jay Som \u2013 Anak Ko<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Though Jay Som\u2019s previous album, Everybody Works<\/em>, is a tough record to top, the artist has continued to gain momentum with Anak Ko<\/em>. As the indie music scene becomes more and more dominated by powerful, talented women, Jay Som is undoubtedly one of the leading forces. Read our review of the album here<\/a>!<\/p>\n\n\n\n
