1.) (Sandy) Alex G \u2013 House of Sugar<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Coming off his last record, Rocket<\/em> \u2014 which was full of folk and Americana cuts, as well as that unmistakable Alex G sound \u2014 it felt like he could go absolutely anywhere with his next project, and rightly so. House of Sugar<\/em>, although one track and about 4 minutes shorter than Rocket<\/em>, feels like a very refined conglomeration of everything Alex G has released to this point. 2.) Electric Guest \u2013 Kin<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Though Billboard has described Kin<\/em> as an attempt by Electric Guest to \u201cdive headfirst into the mainstream,\u201d this new release does not compromise the group\u2019s well-established sound. Kin<\/em> is upbeat and groovy, reminiscent of the early 2000\u2019s music scene in the best ways possible.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

3.) Hovvdy \u2013 Heavy Lifter<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

There is something so heart-wrenchingly familiar about the feeling of wanting to escape your hometown, to move far away and never look back, and Hovvdy captures this feeling in an exceedingly unique way in their third full-length album, Heavy Lifter<\/em>. 4.) Wilco – Ode to Joy<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

For a band that is already on its 11th studio album, Wilco nonetheless does not fail to impress. Ode to Joy<\/em> is a departure from many previous Wilco works; the album is more spacious and focuses more heavily on finding the joy in life, rather than simply facing its obstacles.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

5.) BROCKHAMPTON \u2013 Ginger<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

BROCKHAMPTON\u2019s Ginger<\/em> is somehow both raw and mature, a bit more melancholy than many of their previous works. The record is vulnerable, painting a picture of many of the very real issues the band\u2019s members have personally experienced.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
