He was extremely passionate about his music and was so kind, offering us a CD of their recent release, <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Teatro L\u00f9cido<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>Keller: <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Have you guys been in Austin before?<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>Marlon: <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Yeah, we played in 2014 at Austin Psych Fest, also at South by Southwest (SXSW). We came back for ACL one time, and we really like Austin. It\u2019s really fun.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>Keller: <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">How does Levitation compare to ACL?<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>Marlon: <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">It\u2019s way more cool and indie, like ACL is very mainstream and big.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>Keller: <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">That\u2019s the take around these parts too.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>Marlon: <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Levitation is like a special scene with all the same bands and groups that you like. The people who come to the show are the people that belong to the same family of rock, you know. It\u2019s a bit more precise. It&#8217;s a bit like Hellfest in France.\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>Keller: <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">What do you think about the festival being split between venues?<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>Marlon: <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">I\u2019m very in between. On one side, I think it\u2019s very good because all the venues are involved in the magic of the city. And at the same time, I really miss when it was one location, and there was one wristband for every singer. I think they should just do both.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>Keller: <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">I think they\u2019ve done a really good job putting the bands together for the lineups.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>Marlon: <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Yeah, yesterday I was at 13th Floor, and it\u2019s a very dope venue, I really like it.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>Keller: <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">What\u2019s an artist performing at Levitation that you were excited about?<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>Marlon: <\/b>I really liked Christian Bland, it was a bit like gospel with folk music, it was very pure and blessing. <span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The King Gizzard show was fun to see because they are very good musicians, very sharp and tight. It&#8217;s not my kind of melody all the time but they are very good musicians and they are very fun. And I saw Os Mutantes, it was really good.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>Keller: <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">What kind of music would you say you\u2019re listening to right now?<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>Marlon: <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Most of the time I\u2019m listening to my demo for the next album. The La Femme demo and Sam Quealy; I don\u2019t know if you\u2019ve heard about it. It\u2019s a project I produced; it\u2019s an Australian performer, and I\u2019m doing the techno music behind.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>Maddy: <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">You did a DJ set at Electric Church, how was that?<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>Marlon: <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">It was so fun. It\u2019s a really cool venue too because there\u2019s a lot of freedom.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>Maddy: <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">What kind of music did you play?<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>Marlon: <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">I played a lot of techno, some 60s rock. A mix of everything is what I like, 80s music, cold wave, new wave, soft music you know.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>Maddy: <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">You want to talk about the new album a little bit?<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>Marlon: <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">We did this one in a really different style. We really love the first song because it\u2019s very cinematic, and then you go to a total different trip, more like reggaeton but in La Femme psychedelic style. You also have a cold wave song that I really like. It\u2019s very 80s, Spanish cold wave. There are some more traditional, like \u201cMaialen,\u201d which is more like a Paso Doble. It&#8217;s a very crazy recording and very fun.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>Keller: <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">What\u2019s your recording style like?
