After an 18 year break, a few lineup and name changes we settled on The State of Everything in late 2023, which basically hints that this is all a huge mess.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><strong>What genre would you use to describe your music?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">We are pretty much a 90s music mashup of Emo\/Alt\/Indie rock with influences ranging from Bj\u00f6rk to Iron Maiden.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><strong>If you could do anything with your band, what would you want to do? What\u2019s the ultimate goal?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Since most of us are &#8220;old&#8221;, our ultimate goal with this band is to have fun. No delusions of rockstardom in our future, we just want to play music we enjoy making, and hope others want to come along for the ride. None of us are new to the KC\/Lawrence music scene with roots going back to the mid 90s. We are back in the studio Saturday morning right after the Farmers Ball to finish a new EP.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><strong>What\u2019s your biggest inspiration as a band?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Our biggest inspiration? That&#8217;s easy.. the cheers and claps from fans. Makes it all worth it.<\/span><\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<p><span data-teams=\"true\">The State of Everything is one of the top 8 bands performing at Farmers Ball 2025 this Friday, March 28th at The Bottleneck.
