How did you guys come up with your band name?<\/strong><\/p>\n

Honestly we just thought \u201cThe Ugly Cowboys\u201d had a nice ring, and we couldn\u2019t believe no other band had took the name.<\/span><\/p>\n

What genre would you use to describe your music?<\/strong><\/p>\n

Tough question. We\u2019ve been called indie to punk, but smutrock\/cowpunk\/sleaze seem to be the best descriptors.<\/span><\/p>\n

Do you have a favorite song you\u2019ve written?<\/strong><\/p>\n

I\u2019m pretty partial to \u201cNancy\u201d myself, although our bassist really likes \u201cpussycat\u201d (unreleased) and our drummer likes \u201cpuppy dog.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

What are your top three favorite artists?<\/strong><\/p>\n

I like the Violent Femmes a lot although I\u2019ve recently gotten into Doechii, our bassist is a big Kimya Dawson fan and our drummer likes Rush a lot.<\/span><\/p>\n

If you could do anything with your band, what would you want to do? What\u2019s the ultimate goal?<\/strong><\/p>\n

A solid national tour would be amazing. Not like stadiums or anything, but like a month across the country playing clubs\/small venues that aren\u2019t empty.<\/span><\/p>\n

What\u2019s your biggest inspiration as a band?<\/strong><\/p>\n

Personally, I\u2019m inspired by Brian May (Queen) and Dexter Holland (The Offspring). Both of them have PhDs, and as a PhD candidate playing in a goofy \u201cpunk\u201d band I\u2019m glad to see you can do both.<\/span><\/p>\n
