And he has a lot to say in a genre that values saying things in fewer words than normal. MilkDrop, however, goes the opposite direction most of the time creating essay-like songs. This works some of the time in hip hop but with the D Sides it works all the way through. The poetry is superb complemented by diverse production which I would compare to songs from Immortal Technique (#2), Blu (#4), and lots of other weird but good stuff! This isn’t an album that will knock you on your ass in your first listen. It may take an extra play or a close listen but this shouldn’t discourage not playing this great project.

Reviewed by: James Baker on February 1, 2012

RIYL: Local music!

Recommended Tracks: 2, 1, 5, 4

FCC Warning: None

Label: Datura Records

Release Date: December 24, 2012

[182,3230
337,458
post-8322","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-hip-hopelectronic-rotation","category-new-music-rotation","tag-james-baker","tag-milkdrop
["GET
